1- This is a fun little silly kids movie. And it works really good. Again do not set any high bar or standard, just accept this for the animated fun that it is. And you don’t even have to be a kid to enjoy it. There is enough for everyone. You shouldn’t mind singing too much, though the songs are also very free and with Justin Timberlake at the helm you know you got a hit in the making.

2- I actually knew one song before I had seen the movie. But that’s just because it got very popular quickly. It may be the same for you. The story is simple and I wouldn’t even really spoil anything, especially because it is very predictable. Just sit back and enjoy if you can and are willing too.
